I unfortunately did not have the same experience as everyone else. My Frye boots (engineer R) stitches came apart every time. I went through two Engineer series and now they are refunding my money back.

They have superb service but unfortunately i cannot recommend them. I never put any stress on the boots. I work in an office where the most daunting task is having to walk to my car.

I love love love my Fryes (is that the plural?? I've been wondering. .. ). In doing your shopping though -- don't overlook ebay. I've gotten amazing campus boots on auction for less than 1/2 of retail -- and often already broken in! Good Luck. You will not regret your decision. Once you start wearing Fryes they become a part of your personality.

As a man who owns many pairs of Frye boots, the price at first can be a bit daunting. That being said, they are worth every penny. I just had my first pair of Frye Engineer boots resoled, 12 years after I got them. BTW, they were worn daily. Quality is expensive, but the quality of Frye boots is unheard of.

If you choose to buy a pair, have fun. Breaking them in is part of the adventure!

BTW, I own the "banana" color. They darken with age and good neatsfoot oilings.
